Now that it appears that the government has established a current Coronavirus (covid19) community plan of operation, we here at Octane Garage feel it’s necessary to reach out to our community about this unprecedented set of circumstances and its impact on us all. By the very nature of what we do in auto repair and servicing we get to know people, families, and their friends as well as those who recommend us. Sure we’re in business to fix the car, but it’s ultimately the person, the car’s owner we are actually helping. And we get to know them, work with them, help them solve problems. We want to continue with the same kind of care and consideration for our people during the current imperative, challenging limitations we are now living under. For now, we are classified as an essential business by the government, allowing us to remain open for business. We are maintaining our regular schedule. So far we are able to sustain “business as usual” in addition to keeping our customers as safe as possible. We are keenly aware that we all need to accomplish the daily essentials in our lives, most involve a trip in the car. Hopefully not hunting for toilet paper, (sad humor). In the process of going on with our lives things are still going to break, need maintenance, the usual. Apparently Murphy’s Law is exempt from this virus, (not the governor, the other original Murphy). Here’s the OctaneGarage response to the “limitations vs necessity” challenge in order to protect our customers and minimize any concerns should you need our help. First of all, we keep a clean shop 365 days a year. That makes it simple to effectively and frequently perform sanitizing wipedown of the minimal surfaces our customers actually make contact with and each car is handled with a fresh pair of gloves. Secondly we are in a unique position as a repair shop with a HUGE door, and we keep it open as much as the wind conditions allow, excellent ventilation. Thirdly there is no reason to even enter the shop office if you so choose. The entire transaction can take place with you remaining safely outside. One way of making the best of a difficult situation, some people are taking advantage of their “unscheduled vacation” to address different issues that wait because being busy makes it difficult, like auto repairs or scheduled maintenance. Please be aware we are taking every route possible to continue to serve you, be there to help if you need us and keep you as safe as possible in the process. Curiously, we have yet to hear anyone of authority reminding people in addition to their living spaces to also wipedown their surfaces in their vehicles, steering wheel, knobs, switches, handles, etc. Lots of surfaces we touch in the car so we want to be sure to include that important suggestion. On a lighter note, yes we have an rare authentic bottle of a popular brand of hand sanitizer secure and available to all who wish to partake. Thank you to all who remain loyal customers, sending us new ones and supporting our local small business. You can still get Superior Service at a Reasonable Price and we’ll do our very best to help you feel as protected as possible throughout the process. Stay Safe!
